Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Anything you type into a search box on this site, such as a name or a date of birth, travels straight to the outside provider that runs that search. The provider handles the request and returns the results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our side.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you write to us by email, we retain the message so we can answer it. Your note stays inside our team and is not handed to anyone beyond our organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page on this site loads, our servers record a small set of technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser type and version you are running
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you opened and how long each stayed on screen
- The referring site, when there is one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files kept on your device, to show us how visitors move through the pages and where they lose interest. Analytics services pull that traffic data into aggregate reports. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though a few parts of the site may not behave the same way afterward.
What We Do With This Data
The data above serves a short list of purposes:
- Keeping the site online, stable, and quick to load
- Forwarding your search request to the right partner service
- Seeing which pages help readers and which need rework
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, keep, assemble, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant information. We publish general guidance about where Frederick County warrant records are held and how to look them up through the courts that issue warrants and the sheriff's office that serves them. Maryland has no statewide public warrant system for us to mirror in any case. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing gathered about visitors is turned into a consumer report or a file about a third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes on this site. Whatever you enter there is handled under that partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide their own retention periods and sharing practices, and none of that is under our control. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links out to sheriff's office pages, Maryland court portals, the state case search system, legal aid resources, and third-party search tools. Following any of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then governs your visit. Read it before you hand over personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across sites to target their ads. That tracking happens on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A limited set of parties may see some of it:
- Search partners that process queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that serve advertising on these pages
- Courts, law enforcement, or other government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect the data we hold. No internet service is completely safe, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur, but we take reasonable steps to prevent one.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent data to us, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Maryland law gives the public a route to records that state agencies hold, mainly through the Maryland Public Information Act in General Provisions Title 4. Where you live can also shape what you can ask a private website to do. At a minimum, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Have incorrect information corrected
- Request that your data be erased
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
